Testimonials

Dr. Walsh has been part of my life for almost twenty years, walking alongside me through some of the hardest times I’ve faced. She has helped me find my inner strength, make decisions that reflect my true self, and learn how to advocate for what I need and deserve. What sets Dr. Walsh apart is how real and authentic she is—she shows up fully and encourages the same from me. I’ve never been afraid to be open or vulnerable with her because I know she will always listen with empathy and without judgment. Her support has truly changed my life. I wouldn’t be the parent I am today, or have the healthy, meaningful relationships I now cherish, without her guidance. Therapy has become a vital part of my overall well-being, and I will always prioritize my regular sessions with Dr. Walsh.

I’m especially grateful that my daughter now sees Dr. Walsh as well. She feels safe and completely comfortable with her and has benefited tremendously during the ups and downs of her high school years. At a young age she understands how invaluable therapy is and plans to continue treatment through college and beyond. Knowing she has that support gives me so much peace.

I am forever thankful for everything Dr. Walsh has done for both of us—she’s had a profound impact on our lives, and I can’t imagine our journey without her.

It’s hard to imagine where I would be today had I not sought out therapy. The morning that I walked into Dr. Walsh’s office I was in crisis. My marriage was suffering; I was struggling with substance abuse issues and the fallout from a recent life threating illness. Her patience and empathy helped me to begin a long overdue process of healing. Dr. Walsh created a space where I could speak freely and begin to unwind years of unresolved trauma. With her guidance and support, I have been able to break patterns that were keeping me from my personal and professional potential. Whether navigating marriage issues or learning to set healthy boundaries in difficult relationships the work I’ve done with Dr. Walsh has helped me to become a better and more present person. I cannot imagine a more qualified therapist and I’m truly grateful for the help she has provided over the years.

I have been in therapy for a very long time. Through therapy I have been able to become a better me. The most important thing Dr. Walsh has taught me is that I can still help people and make people happy while still having a backbone: specifically helping others who treat me like a person. My life has been a rollercoaster and therapy has always been a constant. Many people dread therapy, but I enjoy it because I get to focus on myself, and my struggles without feeling guilty. I get advice on how to tackle life’s challenges.

I first went to Dr Piper at the first sign of my divorce. I felt that I had done something wrong to have this situation get out of control, and I felt guilty.

During the course of my first visit, I remember Dr Piper saying to me, “Normally I can grab onto something about the relationship and try to bring it back together,’” she simply stated “I have nothing.” It truly made me feel that I had made the right decision in my life to rid myself of a toxic relationship.

Thank you for all you have guided me through.

I first reached out to Dr. Piper Walsh several years ago when I was experiencing extreme anxiety. My first encounter with her was over the phone to book an appointment. During that call, she was very reassuring that I would get to the other side of what I was going through. That proved to be true over the years and got me through different chapters of my life. Dr. Walsh has helped to see me through tough life challenges with relationships, during the crazy times of covid, and the scary times of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Walsh is extremely sympathetic, has a great sense of humor, and is also very helpful in providing me with the tools that I need to get through life without taking myself too seriously.

Dr. Walsh is honest, straight forward and empathetic. Her relatable stories make you feel seen, heard and understood.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Walsh since we first got married. If it weren’t for her helping us to understand each other and how we each bring value to our marriage in different ways, the hanger argument 15 years ago would have landed us in a very different place in life today.

She has been our cheerleader, shoulder to cry on, and wrestling match referee. She has become the one person in our lives who we respect more than anyone else. Without Dr. Walsh we wouldn’t be the couple and parents that we are today.

I came to Dr. Piper Walsh in the throes of a severe case of Long Covid which had hospitalized me several times. She is a listener who respects and honors her patient’s feelings. I never feel like she is preaching to me. Instead, she is processing what I am saying to her and then guides me to make decisions that will help me adjust to my new life as Long Covid survivor.

Dr. Walsh has contributed greatly to the positive relationship between my wife and I through couples counseling. We decided early on (when we were engaged) that monthly couples therapy would be a good way to avoid both having negative feelings and animosity of one another and solve our relationship problems before they became lifelong issues. Early on in our relationship, we used to have what seemed to be "relationship ending" disagreements where we couldn't find common ground and ended up not talking to each other for days at a time. The inability to find methods to solve disagreements created instability in our lives, and eventually potential instability in our family when we had kids.

Dr. Walsh was just the couple’s therapist we needed, to help us "translate" what we were feeling and experiencing in order to help us realize exactly how we should treat each other and also deserve to be treated. Dr. Walsh's down-to-earth, but always truthful counseling, life experiences, stories of solving her own family and relationship disagreements, and references to popular books, theories, and other outside resources made us realize we were "normal" for experiencing these relationship issues, and that we had a pathway to avoid animosity, pain, and heartache. No longer do we have days of not talking to one another in our relationship.

We have recommended multiple other couples to Dr. Walsh and will continue to refer her services thanks to our extremely positive relationship. The friends we have referred to Dr. Walsh tell us they value her honesty and sharing of her life and relationship experience!

I first sought the help of Dr. Piper Walsh after the delivery of my first child. As a first-time mom, I didn't know how difficult it was going to be to have a child, not just in my body, but also in my mental health. Sadly, this is one of the many ways that new mothers are being failed. I also had to deal with health-related issues that arise post-delivery.

I had my very first panic attack at 10 months post-partum, the sleepless nights had finally caught up. My primary care suggested talk therapy and that's when I started seeing Dr Walsh in 2016.

Meeting weekly brought a sense of calmness and reassurance that I desperately needed. She cares deeply about me and my family. I have been able to work on my own growth as an individual, which is also needed for successful marriages and relationships. I wholeheartedly believe that Dr Walsh help was critical in helping me heal during the struggles I encountered as a mother and newlywed.

As a mother and wife herself, she has been able to guide me in an objective manner in those inevitable hiccups of life. She understands my family dynamics, my religion, and my day-to-day activities.

I still remember those first awkward sessions. She said, “Therapists are like shoes, you have to find the one that you need... “ She made me feel welcome and made me realize that my feelings were normal and valid.

It's been almost 10 years of weekly meetings. I feed my body; I exercise weekly; I go to church to fill my soul, and I go to Dr Walsh to find and work on myself.

Thank you for everything Dr Walsh

I first met Dr. Walsh because my wife and I were adjusting to married life and I wanted to have a great marriage, not just an “ok” marriage.

I remember being very nervous about our first meeting because I hadn’t ever talked with a therapist before and didn’t know what to expect. Within minutes after meeting Dr. Walsh, my nerves were gone, and I knew we had made the best decision of our lives to see her. Dr. Walsh gave us the tools we needed to better communicate with each other and identified so many ways that we could improve not just our relationship, but ourselves. She has been there to support us through our most challenging moments and celebrate the best times of our lives.

Dr. Walsh creates an environment filled with compassion and safety so that you can do the work and grow into the person you only hoped you could be.

After a recommendation from several friends, I contacted Dr. Piper Walsh to help me navigate an unexpected separation after a 35-year relationship. I needed help sorting through my emotions and finding a way forward. From the very first session, she made me feel heard, seen, validated, and supported.

Dr. Walsh’s warm and welcoming presence made it easy to open up about difficult and deeply personal issues. She gently guides conversations in a way that feels safe, natural, and nonjudgmental. Her empathy is palpable from the very beginning. She quickly helps uncover the real issues in a way that has inspired meaningful growth in me—motivating me to explore books, podcasts, and other tools to better understand my situation and myself. When I began therapy, I had a very specific outcome in mind for my relationship. Dr. Walsh gave me the time and space to ask a question I hadn’t considered before: What do I truly want from this—and what’s best for me? This insight didn’t come overnight, but through our work together, I gained clarity. It ultimately led me to a very different—and much healthier—decision than the one I originally envisioned.

In addition to her exceptional credentials and years of experience, Dr. Walsh has a rare ability to quickly understand what’s going on beneath the surface. She asks thoughtful, targeted questions that has led to powerful insights about my situation and created growth opportunities right from the start. After many sessions, I still learn something new in every session that I can directly apply to my life. If you are looking to grow and thrive after a difficult life event, do not hesitate. Call Dr. Walsh.

I started therapy struggling to get through each day. Now, I look forward to my next chapter with joy, excitement, and renewed energy. I’m so grateful I found Dr. Walsh. She has truly made all the difference in the world.

I decided to look into therapy because I knew I needed help in seeing a new perspective on certain aspects of my life. I was at a point where I felt like I hit rock bottom and wanted to find a way to climb out of it. My dad encouraged me to see Dr. Piper Walsh and get counseling, so I did. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Counseling also reassured me that there is a way out and a way to figure out the negative effects of whatever I was experiencing. It’s just about finding those ways, and that is something that Piper helped me and is continuing to help me with each week.

I first came to Dr. Walsh seeking help with infertility struggles — but through her encouragement and insight, I quickly realized how much more my life could benefit from reflection and adjustment.

Over the past twelve years, she has become an essential part of my well-being. Our relationship now serves as a kind of shorthand: when life feels off-kilter, I know exactly where to turn to get back to the basics. But really, I’ve seen her weekly and biweekly for a dozen years.

Dr. Walsh is incredibly well read and brings a depth of knowledge to every conversation — paired with just the right touch of humor (when it’s appropriate; I tend to supply the humor when it’s not). I’m deeply grateful for her steady presence through so many chapters of my life.

I met Piper after I retired from a happy, meaningful, and successful career spent helping others. Over time, though, it became obvious that I had failed to focus on myself. One sign: I had started drinking too much. I saw Piper so I could get some support as I stopped drinking. With Piper’s help, that demon proved surprisingly easy for me to overcome. But as I learned through our sessions, drinking was the symptom, not the problem. Together, we went on to explore the whys behind my drinking, and we deepened our discussions to focus more on making life interesting and meaningful through my aging, which unexpectedly challenged me in new ways this past year. I never dreamed I’d ever see a therapist, but Piper has proven to be the kind of wise, caring, and subtle friend I needed at this stage in my life. The time I have spent with her is a big part of why I’m a happier, healthier, and better person than I was just eight months ago.

During a time of dealing with some quickly accelerating anxiety, Dr. Piper was strongly recommended to me by our family doctor. Talk therapy is work, there is no way around that in my experience, but the benefit of talking to Dr. Piper was almost immediate.

Dr. Piper, through her friendly, disarming and common-sense approach, quickly established a safe place for me to discuss some pretty difficult topics out loud. Just getting those thoughts out of my head and in front of someone else was a huge step forward.

Talking to Dr. Piper is like talking to your favorite Aunt, who also happens to be an accomplished therapist with decades of experience. She gave me practical advice and actionable homework for dealing with my condition.

Our family ended up giving Dr. Piper our highest recommendation by suggesting to our 20-year-old daughter to go see Dr. her. Six months later, our daughter is excelling personally and professionally in ways in which she struggled prior to seeing Dr. Piper.

In addition to her talk therapy, Dr. Piper also has strong relationships with doctors with can prescribe appropriate medication. This was crucial for both my daughter and I. The combination of talk therapy with the proper medication has created a road to wellness we could not have done without her.

We continue to do the work with Dr. Piper and enthusiastically refer her to others looking for someone super qualified and very caring to do the work with.

I entered therapy with Dr. Walsh because I was experiencing panic attacks and stress at work. Therapy has given me the tools I needed to begin to get my anxiety under control. I feel listened to and pleasantly surprised that Dr. Walsh gave more practical advice, rather than abstract ideas. She is very communicative and realistic. I never felt like her advice was ambiguous.

Additionally, she is supportive--Dr. Walsh never gave me a weird look when I talked about sensitive issues like being LGBTQ and was very knowledgeable on the subject

Through therapy, I have learned to accept that I cannot control everything. and my focus should be enjoying life, not trying to fix it. I've also learned that my mental health and physical health are closely tied and eating well and exercising helps a lot!

My children and I have been working with Dr Walsh for a decade. During that time, she has helped each of our children separately with their own unique issues. She has been consistently able to provide an outside perspective on our mental health struggles and provide coping techniques. Dr Walsh has taught us how to find our voices to communicate our feelings.. She has helped us to be open to hearing each other’s feelings, learn to work through these feelings. and find healthy ways to communicate our boundaries. Dr Walsh has helped us learn that how others react in the family is not our responsibility. Our responsibility is to allow others to react how they do. She taught us to stop and think before we react to others and to do so in a calm way and with respect for the other person’s feelings regardless of their reactions.

Dr Walsh’s support for me and for our family has been invaluable. She has helped me process and work through how to support yet not enable one child who is on the spectrum and another who has a bipolar disorder. Additionally, she has helped my two younger children work through trauma experienced while growing up with an older sibling that has a bipolar disorder. She provided feedback and resources to help me create independent children who now can advocate for themselves in all types of situations. Dr Walsh has also been there for family deaths and helping us work through grief and loss, while understanding each of us has our own journey to healing.

Most importantly. Dr Walsh has helped me as a mother to learn to raise my children with boundaries that I did not have growing up. She has been there for me as a mom in some of the scariest moments I could face as a mother and provided advice that has helped me support but not enable my children. She is an amazing psychologist who I would recommend to everyone. She has a way of providing examples of what behaviors now can lead to in the future if the behavior is not changed. In the last decade, we as a family have been through an attempted suicide by one child and worked to better serve a child on the spectrum. We learned to help them to be as independent as possible, to learn their worth, and to teach them to express their feelings in a way that is socially acceptable. Personally, she has helped me understand my worth and to build the self-esteem needed to voice my emotions and feelings even if someone does not want or care to hear them. Dr Walsh has also helped all learn that relationships require evaluation and determination of whether that person is worth having in your life. If they are, then how do you set and keep boundaries?

Dr Walsh is a needle in a haystack. Prior to seeing her, we had been to dozens of psychologists who could not help us grow as a family. Dr Walsh has a way of helping each family member understand their strengths and weaknesses and how to communicate their needs. She provides invaluable resources and coping techniques. She checks in to see how well we can use the learned coping techniques and can adjust them to meet the unique needs of everyone. There are not enough words to truly express the lifesaving work that Dr Walsh provides.
